The best beaches for kids and families in Puerto Rico

Ordered by the Family profile · 20 beaches

With children, the best beach is the one you can reach without a hike and where the water stays calm and shallow. This ranking weighs access and calm water most, then the comfort of the beach and water clarity, so the list is led by the balnearios: public beaches with parking, toilets and, often, lifeguards.

Luquillo, Seven Seas in Fajardo, Caña Gorda in Guánica and Boquerón are classic family days out. Check the flag and the lifeguard schedule when you arrive, and keep in mind that at weekends and on holidays the balnearios fill up early.
